Birmingham City has made a significant announcement, introducing former Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney as their new manager.

Former England striker Wayne Rooney emerged as the leading candidate for the Birmingham City job following his recent departure from the role of manager at Washington’s DC United in Major League Soccer. This decision was made shortly after they dismissed John Eustace, just a couple of days ago, with the Blues holding the sixth position in the Championship.

Birmingham City released a statement regarding their choice to remove manager John Eustace on Monday, even though the team currently holds the sixth position and is within the Championship play-off zone.

Monday’s announcement said, “It is essential that the board of directors and the football management are fully aligned on the importance of implementing a winning mentality and a culture of ambition across the entire football club. With this in mind, Birmingham City has today parted company with head coach, John Eustace.”
