Usher’s playful concert moment: Pausing serenade to Gabrielle Union, joking ‘This is Dwyane Wade. I ain’t crazy!’

Usher

Usher, the King of R&B, playfully quipped that he aimed to steer clear of any drama with Gabrielle Union’s husband.

On September 25th, the ‘Confessions’ singer posted a video of himself serenading Gabrielle Union during one of his concerts, when he stops singing and playfully says, “Lets not get carried away. This is Dwyane Wade, I ain’t crazy. That man will knock my whole head off and dunk it.”

Commenters on the Instagram post playfully recalled the humorous incident and drew comparisons to a previous situation where Usher had serenaded Keke Palmer, prompting her boyfriend and the father of her child, Darius Jackson, to address it on social media the following day.

Back in July, Usher garnered attention when Keke Palmer’s boyfriend publicly addressed her choice of attire, criticizing her for wearing a black bodysuit beneath a sheer dress during Usher’s Las Vegas residency.

In the viral video, Usher is seen serenading Palmer, and she enthusiastically plays along. Jackson responded to the clip tweeting, “It’s the outfit tho… you a mom.”

After facing criticism, Jackson expressed his perspective by stating, “We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife (and) mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is.”

“This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what i believe. I rest my case,” he added.

After the online drama, Palmer has remained tight-lipped about her relationship status but creatively turned the situation into a collaboration with Usher on the track “Boyfriend.” The song humorously portrays a clueless boyfriend searching for Usher, who’s occupied spending time with his girlfriend.

Months later, Usher was named as the headlining act for the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show. The R&B star expressed his gratitude and excitement in an official NFL statement saying, “It’s an honour of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before. Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”
