Bruce Springsteen has rescheduled all of his remaining 2023 concerts to next year while he focuses on his recovery from peptic ulcer disease.
On Wednesday, the 74-year-old music legend took to Instagram to share that, based on his doctor’s advice, all upcoming tour dates for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be put on hold.
The post read, “Bruce Springsteen has continued to recover steadily from peptic ulcer disease over the past few weeks and will continue treatment through the rest of the year on docytor’s advice.”
“The Boss,” aka Springsteen, expressed his gratitude to friends and fans for their “heartwarming well-wishes, encouragement, and unwavering support.”
Earlier this month, the musician, known for his Golden Globe wins, revealed that he would be delaying his September performances. These shows were initially scheduled at various venues across the US, spanning locations such as Washington DC, Baltimore, Connecticut, and Ohio.
During that period, he was under treatment for symptoms associated with the ulcer. This condition is marked by the development of open sores in the stomach or small intestine lining, often causing discomfort such as heartburn, nausea, and severe stomach pain.
The newly delayed concerts encompass Canadian dates as well as performances scheduled in Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Details regarding rescheduled shows at the same original venues are expected to be announced later this week.
These concerts marked the return of Springsteen and the E Street Band to the touring scene since February 2017, and their first North American tour since September 2016. In a notable performance, they headlined the British Summertime Festival at London’s Hyde Park in July. The audience included prominent figures such as eight-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer, Peter Gabriel, Billy Joel, and Jon Bon Jovi.
