Entertainment. Billy Idol’s latest revelation has left his most dedicated fans in disbelief, as he disclosed the existence of an additional son and two previously unknown grandchildren.
The reformed hellraiser caused a stir when he posted a series of family photos on his Instagram grid in September, prompting a flurry of puzzled comments due to the unexpected appearance of previously undisclosed relatives.
Initially, people believed that Idol, at the age of 67, had one son, Willem Wolf, aged 35, from his relationship with former dancer Perri Lister, and a daughter named Bonnie Blue, aged 34, from a previous relationship with Linda Mathis.
Through his daughter, the rocker is also a grandparent to Poppy Rebel, who is two years old, and Maryjane Rebel, who is 21 months old.
However, backstage photos taken following his performance at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn on September 13 suggested that the British rocker’s immediate family is larger than initially believed.
Captioning the images, Idol unveiled a surprise visit from his previously unknown son, Brant Northridge-Broad, along with his young granddaughter, Mckenzie.
He wrote, “Had a lovely visit from my granddaughter McKenzie backstage at the kings theatre yesterday… also with my son @brant_northridge_broad… also McKenzie started school recently-BFI.”
In the photos, Idol is posing with his granddaughter, who’s sporting a pair of ear defenders to protect her from the loud show. Her attire also suggests she’s ready for the occasion, with Idol seen admiring her leather shorts, sparkly boots, and fishnet socks during their backstage encounter.
Responding to the post, one surprised follower commented: “Well Billy has not been shy about his wild youth, there was … a lot… of ladies back in the day, bound to be the odd child come out a few paternity tests, he looks older than Willem and Bonnie so maybe jus before/during never know, glad he’s getting to know them either way.”
Another bewildered commenter added, “I’m so confused. A third child, Billy? Where have I been?”
